Arrogant, corrupt, and rarely sober; Austin Chessani has been the acting mayor of Vinci for a number of years and as such has a hand in every illegitimate dealing occurring within his constituency, creating a virtual fiefdom for himself and his friends both political and otherwise. Chessani considers his family to be a "political dynasty" akin to that of the Kennedys and "lives in the biggest house on the street in Bel Air", but his personal life is in a significant state of disarray; with a perpetually intoxicated trophy wife, an emotionally distant daughter, and a secretive son finding his way up the ladder of a non-political hierarchy.
1. The character of Austin Chessani may possibly be based on that of Leonis C. Malburg, the mayor of Vernon, CA (The city that Vinci is heavily based on) from 1974 to 2009 that was conivcted of conspiracy, perjury, and voter fraud.
